For a long time, the Church has been quiet about one of the most important parts of our lives. While the world has never stopped talking about sex, many people have grown up without ever hearing what God actually says about it. Instead, they have learned from social media, pornography, movies and friends, leaving many with questions, confusion and a deep sense of shame. Yet sex was never meant to be a source of shame. It was God’s idea from the beginning, created with purpose, beauty and meaning. Like every good gift, it was designed to flourish within the boundaries He lovingly established, not because He wants to limit us, but because He wants to protect us from the pain that comes when we misuse what He created.
What often goes unseen is the quiet burden so many people carry. Behind the smiles, the achievements and the appearance that everything is fine are stories of regret, hidden struggles and wounds that have never truly healed. Many believe they have gone too far, that God could never forgive them or restore what has been broken. But the heart of the Gospel tells a different story. God has never been in the business of discarding broken people. He restores them. His grace reaches into the deepest places of shame and offers something many people never thought possible: freedom, healing and a fresh beginning.
This is why the conversation matters. Talking about sex from a biblical perspective is not about making people feel guilty. It is about helping them understand God’s heart. It is about showing that our identity is not defined by our past mistakes but by the One who created us. When we understand His design, we begin to see that His instructions are not there to take life away from us but to lead us into the fullness of it.
The Church has an opportunity to lead this conversation with wisdom, compassion and truth. Parents, pastors and mentors can create safe spaces where honest questions are welcomed and where people find grace instead of condemnation. Every generation is searching for answers. If the Church remains silent, someone else will provide them. Now is the time to speak with clarity, to point people back to God’s original design and to remind every person carrying hidden shame that there is hope, there is healing and there is always a way back to Him.
