The battle for your country isn’t just happening in parliament. It’s happening in the spirit.
Have you ever felt like the chaos in your nation is too coordinated to be just “bad management”?
We blame corruption, bad policies, and the media. And while those are the symptoms, what if I told you they are not the root cause?
I recently came across a perspective on the role of government in spiritual warfare that stopped me in my tracks. It suggests that before a nation falls apart politically, it is attacked spiritually. And if the Church ordinary people like you and me does not understand this, we will spend our lives fighting the wrong battles.
Here is the reality we often miss:
1. The Government is a Battleground
We look at politics as a career path or a power struggle. But Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that “our struggle is not against flesh and blood.”
When corruption becomes normal, when oppression is baked into the law, and when lies spread faster than truth, we aren’t just looking at broken systems. We are looking at spiritual strongholds.
If you only fight the politician, you’ll be exhausted when the next one does the same thing. We have to fight the spirit behind the seat.
2. The Enemy’s Pressure Points
If the enemy wanted to take over a nation, he wouldn’t just attack one family. He would target the pressure points that impact everyone:
- The Political System: To normalize corruption so that power serves itself.
- The Media: To control the narrative, spread fear, and drown out truth.
- Idolatry: To make us trust money, leaders, or systems more than God.
Sound familiar? It’s not a conspiracy. It’s a strategy.
3. The One Thing the Enemy Fears
There is a group of people the enemy works overtime to silence: Intercessors.
Satan isn’t afraid of your protest signs or your angry tweets. He is terrified of the praying church. Because prayer changes the spiritual atmosphere. It stops demonic plans cold, sends angels to protect the innocent, and stirs revival where there was only decay.
The question is: Are we praying safe, vague prayers? Or are we on our knees fighting for the soul of our nation?
If you are tired of watching your country spiral and you’re ready to stop complaining and start contending, here is what we must do:
- Look Past the Obvious. Stop asking, “Who is the candidate?” Start asking, “What is the spirit behind this policy?”
- Pray Like It Depends on It. Don’t skip this. Pray for your leaders by name. Pray for the media. Pray for the nation’s relationship with truth.
- Speak Up. Silence is a luxury we cannot afford. Injustice hides in plain sight when good people decide it’s “not my problem.”
- Remember Your Authority. You are not fighting for victory; you are fighting from victory. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
